Coronavirus cases following national trend across Shaler Journal communities

As coronavirus cases begin to rise more slowly in Allegheny County and across the country, communities in the Shaler Journal area are also seeing their numbers rise less sharply.

As of Jan. 27, there have been 1,560 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Shaler since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. The township has reported 18 deaths, and 7,493 tests have been administered to residents.

Since the pandemic began, Etna has had 179 cases (one death), Millvale has had 175 cases (one death) and Reserve has had 171 cases (two deaths).
