Races for Verona Borough Council included an incumbent winning both a two- and four-year seat, according to unofficial Allegheny County election results.

Running as a Democrat and Republican for a four-year term, Nancy A. Carpenter received 288 votes to finish third, with three seats up for election Nov. 7. She was unopposed for the two-year term, garnering 405 votes.

A likely scenario is that she accepts the former and resigns from the latter, according to Carpenter.

Incumbent Democrats Sylvia K. Provenza, 365 votes, and Timothy W. Long, 342, won the other four-year seats. Republican William Craig, another current council member, received 278 votes.
