A motorcyclist died in a crash with an SUV Monday on the Parkway East outbound, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office identified the motorcyclist as Gregory John Rozzo, 60, of Moon.

Rozzo was headed east in the center lane and the SUV was in the left lane, according to a release from state police.

As the SUV was passing the motorcycle, police said, Rozzo’s motorcycle swerved from the center lane into the passenger side of the SUV, and the SUV then swerved into the concrete barrier.

Rozzo was thrown from the bike and hit a fence post above the barrier, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 64-year-old driver of the SUV was the only person in that vehicle, and was not injured in the crash.

The crash happened just after 11 a.m. and temporarily shut down one lane of the Parkway East outbound.
