Emergency responders were called to a business in Turtle Creek for reports of a fire early Sunday.

The fire was put out by around 8 a.m., said Kasey Reigner, a spokeswoman for the fire marshal.

“From my understanding it is under control,” Reigner said.

EOS Energy Enterprises confirmed the incident took place at their headquarters at 200 Braddock Ave. In a statement, they referred to it as an “electrical event.”

“All employees are safe, and there are no injuries. The situation is fully contained with no risk to employees, residents or the environment,” the statement said. “Fire crews worked with site management and personnel have since been cleared to return to the building.”

Both the Allegheny County Fire Marshal and the Allegheny County Hazardous Materials Team were still at the scene around noon.

No injuries were reported, Reigner said.

The investigation is ongoing.

EOS Energy specializes in zinc batteries for large-scale energy storage. In 2019, it opened the Turtle Creek location, taking space in the RIDC Keystone Commons industrial park. Last month, the company announced it will move its headquarters from New Jersey to Pittsburgh and expand operations.
