An afternoon trailer fire at Pittsburgh International Airport resulted in no injuries and no service disruptions, officials said Saturday.

The fire was reported just after noon in the construction site at the airport.

“Airport crews have extinguished the fire, which was contained to a single trailer near the parking area of the construction site — a non-public area. As part of standard protocol, the Allegheny County fire marshal is investigating the cause,” according to a statement issued by the Allegheny County Airport Authority.

A $1.57 billion project is underway at the airport. The project includes a new 811,000-square-foot terminal and about 6,000 additional parking spots in a new garage and nearby lots.

The new terminal is expected to open by year’s end.
