Aspinwall Volunteer Fire Department is taking orders for its fourth annual St. Patrick’s Day T-shirt fundraiser.
The bright green long-sleeved shirts are emblazoned with the department’s call number, 102, on the front and a saw-wielding leprechaun on the back.
Written in Gaelic is the phrase “Running through the flames.”
“It helps us celebrate with our community,” Assistant Chief J.C. Teyssier said. “It also helps us fund new equipment.”
Volunteers responded to 702 calls in 2018, while marking the department’s 125th anniversary, Teyssier said.
There are currently about 40 members. Leaders are always seeking new members. Teens, ages 15 to 17, are welcome to join as junior firefighters.
Shirts are available in sizes for youth and adults, from small to 4X. Costs range from $25 to $28. Deadline is Feb. 22.
To order, call Teyssier at 412-932-4959.
