Dorseyville Middle School had 58 female students recognized for their achievements in STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — by the American Association of Unversity Women, Fox Chapel Area Affiliate.

Fifty-eight young women from Dorseyville Middle School were recognized for their achievements in STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — fields. Due to Covid restrictions, the traditional ceremony, sponsored by the American Association of University Women, Fox Chapel Area Affiliate, could not be held in person. The young women received certificates in the mail recognizing their performance.

The young women, in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, were chosen for the award by their teachers, based on the student’s abilities, strong interest in and enthusiasm for STEM subjects, and participation in school and class projects. AAUW members are hopeful the award will encourage those honored to pursue STEM studies in high school and beyond.
