Fox Chapel Area is accepting applications for the district’s new income-eligible pre-kindergarten program.
The classes are expected to begin this fall at the new Kerr Elementary, now under construction along Kittanning Pike.
The program is aimed at children who turn four by Sept. 1.
To be eligible, a family’s income must be below the 300 percent poverty level for the size of the family. A family of three has to make less than $62,340.

Classes will include up to 20 students and will run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Parents/guardians must provide transportation.
