Lower Valley voters will have the chance on Tuesday to hear from candidates seeking a term on the Fox Chapel Area School Board.

The League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh is hosting a forum to which all nine school board candidates have been invited.

The event is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Aspinwall Presbyterian Church, 299 Center Ave.

Nine candidates are seeking five open seats on the board. They are: Marybeth Dadd of Riverwatch Drive, Greg Dolan of Mayflower Drive, Nancy Foster of Windsor Road, Ron Frank of Heathergate Drive, Eric Hamilton of Woodshire Drive, Vanessa Lynch of Saxonburg Boulevard, Lisa Marie Rutkowski of Davonshire Drive, Eric Schmidt of Oakhurst Road and Terry Wirginis of Old Pine Lane.

All of the candidates cross-filed except Dolan, who is on the Republican ticket only.

Hamilton, Rutkowski and Schmidt are vying for two open seats in Region One; Lynch, Wirginis, Frank and Dolan are competing for two open seats in Region Two; and Dadd and Foster are each vying to fill the one open seat in Region Three.

All terms run four years.

Audience members can submit written questions to be asked to candidates.

The American Association of University Women Fox Chapel Area affiliate is the co-sponsor of the forum, which is free and open to the public.
