La Roche to expand mental health services
La Roche University will partner with the JED Foundation, a nationally recognized nonprofit, to improve campus mental health resources.
The four-year partnership will focus on enhancing and expanding mental health services to the whole campus community.
The University also plans to connect students with a local psychiatrist on campus at no cost.
Beattie Center open house
A.W. Beattie Career Center will have an open house from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on March 17.
Because of social distancing guidelines, it is by appointment only and for prospective students and their parents/guardians.

Fish fry takeout orders
Christ the Divine Teacher Catholic Academy will have a fish fry March 26.
It will be takeout only, for lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and for dinner from 3:30 to 7 p.m.

Meditation sessions on tap
The Pittsburgh Buddhist Center will offer weekly online meditation sessions from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays.
The series is designed for beginners. The guide is a Buddhist monk, and the techniques taught are secular and appropriate for adults regardless of beliefs or religious affiliations. There is no registration required.

Booked for Lunch slated
Cooper-Siegel Community Library will host the monthly book club, Booked for Lunch, from noon to 1 p.m. on March 12.
Discussion will be about four picture books: “Sulwe” by Lupita Nyong’o and Vashti Harrison, “Fry Bread” by Kevin Maillard and Juana Martinez-Neal, “Drawn Together” by Minh Lê and illustrator Dan Santat and “The Book with No Pictures” by B. J. Novak.
Titles are available for checkout at the library’s Adult Services desk.

Improve Microsoft skills
Residents interested in learning more about Microsoft apps and skills for Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Windows 10 can visit mikeswindowstraining.com for a list of free classes offered by retiree Mike Smialek.
Classes will be from 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursdays.
Using WebEx as the online sharing platform, students need access to the internet, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365 software or similar and a computer.
Each class comes with a step-by-step handout and the files needed to complete the online exercises together. The class schedule includes PowerPoint Intermediate on March 18 and Windows 10 on March 25.
Women’s Business Network to meet
