Sidewalk sale

Dress for Success Pittsburgh’s newest location in Sharpsburg is having a Sidewalk Sale to support women entering and returning to the workforce.

Shoppers are invited to bring a bag carry their items home.

Funds raised will be used to support mobile services, allowing the team to bring clothing and employment readiness support to more women across the region.

This event will take place rain or shine at the Dress for Success Pittsburgh Warehouse in Sharpsburg, 126 23rd St. on the following days:

Friday, Sept 22: 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Saturday, Sept: 23: 8 a.m.-noon

Friday, Sept 29: 4 p.m.-6 p.m.

Fitness walk

Knox Walks for Fitness is a program organized by a community walking group in Blawnox.

They invite people to walk with them at the Blawnox Community Park from 6-7 p.m. every Monday, weather permitting.

Festival planned

Best of Blawnox will host a fall festival from noon-3 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Blawnox Community Park along Center Avenue.

There will be various food and craft vendors as well as basket auctions and mums for sale. Organic gardener Doug Oster is expected to participate and answer gardening questions.

Beer crawl

Aspinwall Chamber of Commerce presents its craft beer crawl from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Sept. 23.

Tickets are $40. The event is limited to 550 participants.

People can sample beverages and explore businesses along Commercial Avenue, First Street and Brilliant Avenue.
