Girls Volleyball Boosters car wash
The Fox Chapel Girls Volleyball Boosters will host a fundraiser car wash on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Jiffy Lube, 201 Freeport Road in Aspinwall.
Donations will be accepted.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the varsity and junior varsity girls volleyball teams at Fox Chapel Area Area High School.
Democratic Blast
Voters in the Fox Chapel Area School District are invited to the Indiana Township Democratic Committee’s Summer Blast p.m. Aug. 26 from 2-5 p.m. at Emmerling Park.
Allegheny County Executive candidate Sara Innamorato will attend, along with U.S. Rep. Chris Deluzio, D-Aspinwall; State Rep. Mandy Steele, D-Fox Chapel; and Allegheny County Councilwoman Anitia Prizio. Also expected are Allegheny County District Attorney candidate Matt Dugan; Allegheny County Councilwoman Bethany Hallam and Allegheny County Democratic Committee leadership. Each of the four Democratic candidates running for Indiana Township Supervisors will be introduced.
The event is co-sponsored by the Democratic committees of Fox Chapel, O’Hara, and Aspinwall, as well as Blawnox and Sharpsburg.
Sealarks
Sealarks Women’s Group will meet at 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road, McCandless.
The group provides Christian fellowship and social activity for women alone.
All women alone are welcome to attend and consider joining the group.
The event is the season’s Kickoff Dinner. Cost is $10 for guests and $5 for members. Please contact Karen at 412-366-3109 for information and reservations.
AARP membership drive
AARP No. 2991 meets at noon on the third Thursday of each month at Northmont Presbyterian Church, 8169 Perry Highway in McCandless.
Come join the group for dessert, bingo, entertainment, socialization and more. It also offers trips for members.
There is a membership drive in September and October. Every visitor will receive ticket for a raffle in October. Join as a member and receive two raffle tickets.
Dues are $10 a year.
FCAHS Football Boosters
Fox Chapel Area High School Football Booster volunteers are hosting a “Farewell Summer” Concert Festival noon to 10 p.m., Sept. 3 at the Dive Bar & Grille in Indiana Township, 3410 Saxonburg Rd.
The event is rain or shine.
The fundraiser will benefit the football team that includes 67 varsity players and 47 seventh and eighth graders.
New this year at the festival is an all-ages corn hole tournament. The cost to play is $20 per person.
Scheduled musical acts include DJ Scar, reggae group Ras Prophet and the Tina Daniels Band.
