O’Hara council approved nearly $1.1 million in road paving for 2019.

O’Hara residents are expected to see nearly $1.1 million in road paving projects this summer.

Council on March 11 approved a list of projects to be targeted in the road improvement campaign, including several in RIDC Park.

Youngblood Paving was awarded the contract.

The list of roads to be milled and paved include Cornwall and Falconhurst drives and Frick, Sunridge and Worthington roads.

Alternates include Sigma, Gamma and Zeta drives in RIDC Park, along with chip sealing of Field Club Road from Powers Run to the Fox Chapel line.

O’Hara has for several years joined Fox Chapel and Blawnox in a multi-municipal agreement.

“The township once again bid with neighboring communities,” Manager Julie Jakubec said. “This helped to reduce costs, allowing for all alternate roads to be done this year.”

Motorists are asked to obey posted speed limits and be alert for temporary barricades.

Work will begin this summer.
