Parking along public roads prohibited in Fox Chapel during snow

In anticipation of this weekend’s predicted snow, Fox Chapel officials are reminding residents that street parking is prohibited during inclement weather.
That includes snow and ice storms.
The Pittsburgh region is expected to get 6 to 8 inches of snow Saturday, before turning to a rain/snow mix on Sunday.
Vehicles parked on public roads during a snowstorm are a hazard, borough officials said. They keep the borough’s road crew from effectively doing their job.
Police will be called to tow vehicles parked along public roads.
Manager Gary Koehler said it is also illegal for residents to shovel snow from any driveway, sidewalk or private road onto public roads.
In other news, residents who still have yet to toss their Christmas trees can dispose of them at the bins behind the municipal office.
Vogel Disposal will not collect them as part of the borough’s garbage hauling contract.
Bins at the municipal office, 401 Fox Chapel Road, are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends.
Ornaments and other trimmings must be removed.
