A springtime tradition continued May 11 at Lauri Ann West Community Center in O’Hara.

Gardenfest, the popular showcase of plants, pots and flowers, filled the campus at 1220 Powers Run Road, much to shoppers’ delight.

“There’s no better way to celebrate spring,” said Jamie Rhoades, the center’s director of development.

Local participants included Fox Chapel Garden Club, Guyasuta Garden Club, Penn State Master Gardeners, Toad Hollow and the Men’s Garden Club of Pittsburgh.

Gardeners were able to talk with club members to learn tips from those who know best. There also were plenty of native plants for sale to fill local lawns.
