Children celebrated Read Across America and the birthday of Dr. Seuss on March 2 at Cooper-Siegel Community Library in Fox Chapel.

Children’s librarian Christine Aftanas read Seuss favorites like “Green Eggs and Ham” while participants made puppets and listened to rhyming stories about colors, numbers and shapes.

Read Across America is hosted each year to encourage youth literacy.
