A new playhouse recently was installed at 16th Street Park in Sharpsburg.
Children in Sharpsburg have a new spot in 16th Street Park to let their imaginations soar.
Borough officials held a ceremony Aug. 22 to dedicate a playhouse.
Other amenities at the park include a pavilion with picnic tables, water sprinklers, playground equipment, a swing set, basketball court and benches.
The idea for the playhouse originated with Sharpsburg resident Lauren Pearce, borough officials said. Parks and Recreation committee member Lori Claus helped to set the plans in motion to purchase and install the structure. Mark Yocca of YOCCA Playgrounds + Outdoor Fitness assisted in those efforts.
The project was made possible through donations from Turner Construction, The District Association, Sharpsburg Borough and anonymous donors.
