Summer camp at Shady Side Academy might include ceramics, cooking, theater or sports — or all of the above.
Registration is open for a bevy of summer programs offered from June 10 to Aug. 9.
The nearly 50 flexible camps are aimed at children in pre-kindergarten through ninth grade, and hosted across campuses in Fox Chapel and Point Breeze.
There are day camps, sports and art camps, STEM programs and summer school classes.
Students from any school can attend. Costs vary.
Full-day camps include lunch and free before-care, and bus transportation is offered to Fox Chapel campuses from the North Hills and East End.
Some of the programs include Day Camp Discovery, aimed at elementary-aged children, which focuses on tennis, media arts, theater and more. East End Explorers, for pre-k to grade two, offers traditional day camp experiences in addition to adventures throughout Pittsburgh.
Sport camp, for all ages, is led by SSA coaches and enables children to learn basketball, golf and other sports, and, new this year is the Drobots STEM camp, also for all ages, which will encourage children to conquer challenges in a team-oriented environment.
