Tis the season for ghosts and goblins. Here is a round-up of Halloween events in the Fox Chapel area.

Aspinwall

• Trick or Treating in Aspinwall will begin at 6 p.m. on Oct. 31 and end at 7:30 p.m.

• The Aspinwall Police Department and Mayor Joe Noro will host a movie in the park event at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at Ben Killian Field. The movie will be “The Goonies.” Admission is free. There will be a Halloween costume contest. Drinks and popcorn will be provided.

Blawnox

• Trick or Treating in the borough is from 6-8 p.m., Oct. 31.

Fox Chapel

• The Fox Chapel Police Department will host a free, pumpkin-painting event for kids and their families on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a costume contest. The event will be held behind the police station on Fox Chapel Road. Treats and refreshments will be on hand.

• Trunk-or-treat, 4 to 6 p.m., will be Oct. 21 in the parking lot of Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church, 384 Fox Chapel Road. The parking lot will open at 3 p.m. Reservations are required to pass out treats. Children do not need to register. Vehicle registration: tinyurl.com/mvm4eaeh. • Audubon Society Creatures of the Night, Oct. 20 and 21 at Beechwood Farms Nature Reserve, 614 Dorseyville Road. Sessions are at 6:30, 7 and 7:30 p.m. Come in costume to walk the trails and meet nonscary costumed creatures who will tell the story of their life. Rain or shine. Cost: $10; members, $6; free for 2 and younger. Reservations: aswp.org or 412-963-6100.

• Trick or treating in the borough will be Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.

Indiana Township

• Allegheny County Department of Parks will sponsor Punkin’ Chunkin at the Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheather on Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• On Oct. 22, the parks department will host a free trunk-or-treat car cruise, 2 to 4 p.m. in the amphitheater parking lot. Cruisers are encouraged to decorate their vehicles, bring candy and dress in costume. No reservations required for children. Reservations required for vehicles. Reservations: tinyurl.com/dckjxy8s.

• Halloween Movies in the Park, 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 on the lawn of the Hartwood Mansion. Bring a blanket. The movie will be “Hocus Pocus,” rated PG.

• Trick or Treating in Indiana Township is scheduled for Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.

O’Hara Township

• O’Hara Police are hosting a cookie and cider event at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 21 at Shelter No. 2 at Aspinwall Community Park, with the movie in the park to begin at dusk. Dress in your favorite Halloween costume. The movie is “Hotel Transylvania – Transformania”. It is rated PG.

• Fox Chapel Area High School National Honor Society Boo Bash, noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the high school, 611 Field Club Road, in O’Hara; free for children in prekindergarten through third grade. There will be treats, games and prizes. Costumes encouraged. Donations of money; single-serve breakfast cereal; cans of soup, ravioli and spaghetti; peanut butter singles and jars; protein bars; macaroni and cheese; and snack packs will be accepted for the district’s Backpack for Hunger, Fox Families Care, Second Harvest and Roots of Faith programs. Parents must accompany their children, and children should bring a bag for treats. Park near the tennis courts and use the athletics/fox statue entrance.

• Trick or treating in O’Hara will be Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m.

Sharpsburg

• Sharpsburg trick or treating is scheduled for Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. Trick-or-treaters can stop by the fire department for a treat.
