People who travel along Freeport Road in Aspinwall are likely familiar with Chapel Hills Jewelry, the upscale shop at the intersection of Virginia Avenue.

It’s been a staple more than three decades, opened by Jack and Tina Tesauro in 1989.

Previously, the corner was a mainstay for residents and those traveling through — in the form of a service station called Casile’s Courtesy Corner.

Family member Linda Casile recalls, “Our dad, Frank, had a Mobil Gas Station — the one with the flying red horse symbol — around the 1950s.

“Our mom told us that when someone did not have the money they needed for gas or car work, that daddy would barter with them and take care of whatever their car needed.”
