Beechwood Farms in Fox Chapel is seeking volunteers to roll up their sleeves and help with a clean-up on Saturday.

Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, headquartered at Beechwood, is hosting a Day of Service to celebrate Earth Day.

The clean-up will be 9 a.m. to noon at the site, 614 Dorseyville Road.

Rachel Handel, Beechwood spokesperson, said volunteers will remove invasive species from the five miles of trails at the 134-acre sanctuary. They will also be planting native varieties, which could include blue Lobelia and iris.

The event is aimed at prepping the trails for summer when thousands of students and community groups begin to converge at the outdoor classrooms, nature play area and center for native plants.
