Youths in Sharpsburg Community Library’s Art Workshop Wednesday program did some tempera painting inspired by Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.

They created flowers with smiling faces on March 22.

Library youth programs coordinator Alison Babusci said the paintings will be clustered on the library windows in celebration of spring.

Nearly a dozen children ages 6-12 took part in the workshop with the help of some high school volunteers.
