Hampton Community Library is seeking new members to serve on the board of trustees.

No experience is necessary, just a desire to help shape the library for the future. Email a letter of interest to Erin Hasinger at hampton@hamptoncommunitylibrary.org by Dec. 18.

Library programs include:

Brrrr! It’s Cold Outside Storytime, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Dec. 6 and 13. Friends from Positive Steps will bring stories, games and activities/crafts. The free program is open to children 6 and under, and will be the same each date.

Friends and Mittens Storytime, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Dec. 8 and 15. Join Miss Jess and her favorite pair of mittens for storytime filled with stories, songs and crafts. The program is for babies on up to 6 years old and will the same each date.

Olaf’s Snow Party, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Dec. 20 and 21. Children ages 3 to 6 are invited for stories, songs, games and crafts designed around Olaf, the snowman from “Frozen,” and his friends. Costumes are encouraged. Registration is appreciated, as space is limited.

Happy “Noon” Year Party, 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 27 and 28. Get ready to celebrate with stories, crafts, games and a dance party to count down the New Year. Registration is appreciated, as space is limited. The program is for children ages 4 and older.

Friends N’at, 11:15 a.m. Dec. 14 and every second Wednesday of the month. This 30- to 45-minute neurodivergent program is designed to bring people of all abilities together to interact, investigate, create and make friends at the library. No registration is required.

Card Club, 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays. Show your skill, teach someone a new game or just enjoy some time out with friends, new and old.

Betty’s Book Buzz Discussion Group, 1 p.m. Dec. 16 in the library, discussing “Faithful Place” by Tanya French. Call the library at 412-684-1098 to request a copy of the book. Everyone who is interested in great conversations and good reads is invited to join.

Murder by the Book! A Mystery Book Discussion, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 21 in the library, discussing “Lost Hills” by Lee Goldberg. Group meets inside the library. Call the library at 412-684-1098 to request a copy of the book. Everyone who is interested in great conversations and good reads is invited to join.

“Soup”er Bowl Challenge, 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 11. Enter your homemade soup gain bragging rights for a year. Entry fee is $10. Registration begins Jan. 3. Non-cooking guests are welcome to taste the soups and vote for their favorite. Admission is $10.

The library will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 22 and remained closed through Dec. 26. On Dec. 29, the library also closes at 5, and it will reopen Jan. 3.
