Hampton Community Pool will have a Christmas in July event from 1:30 to 3 p.m. July 21.

Snow cone elves are hard at work prepping for Hampton Community Pool’s Christmas in July festival.

The event will be 1:30 to 3 p.m. on July 21 at the pool along McCully Road.

“Our elves on staff work many hours making several hundred snowballs leading up to this day,” pool Manager Bill Ryder said.

“The kids have a blast tossing them.”

Festive flamingos and holiday-themed inner tubes will decorate the campus. A special visit will be made by Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Kevin Flannery, director of community services, said the township’s day camp participants have been hard at work crafting items to decorate a summer Christmas tree.

“We are making 500-plus snowballs that the youth at the pool can test their skills to toss in rings in the pool,” he said.

Prizes will be awarded.

“Stop by and let Santa know what you want for Christmas,” Flannery said.

Cost of a one-day admission ranges from $5 to $15, depending on age and residency.

The Hampton Community Pool complex includes a heated in-ground pool with a zero-foot walk-in and spray feature.

There are adult lap lanes, slides and diving boards.

Visitors can escaped the sun under two wooded pavilions or grab a snack at the concession stand.

Ryder said the event was first held in 2019 and then had to be put on hold in 2020 because of the pandemic.

His staff is looking forward to presenting the festive day again this year.

“Everyone seemed to really enjoy it,” he said.
