Hampton School District students, staff and family who are interested in getting a covid-19 vaccination might be able to do so at an on-campus clinic in May.

The district is gauging interest from the community before making a final decision on hosting a clinic.

Pfizer vaccines will be doled out at a clinic tentatively scheduled for May 15 if enough people register.

A survey/registration is available until 11:59 p.m. Thursday to gather input. It is available at forms.gle/2XRwE4FGN836itzM9

If enough interest is shown, the district will send a separate signup link to secure appointments.

If approved, the district will collaborate with Rite-Aid to offer the Pfizer shot to anyone 16 and older.

The clinic would be in the high school cafeteria, 2929 McCully Road. First doses will be doled out on May 15, with a second clinic scheduled for June 5.

Clinics will either be 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m.

“We are excited as a district to do our part to make vaccines more accessible to the Hampton community,” said Hampton Superintendent Michael Loughead.

Vaccine clinics opened to all Pennsylvanians in April.

Since then, more than 430, 500 people in Allegheny County have received two vaccine doses and almost 245,233 people have received one dose, according to data from the state Department of Health.

Similar events are planned for residents 16 and older elsewhere in the region, including May 11 for residents in the North Hills School District; May 12 at Plum’s Oblock Junior High School that is open to Plum, Oakmont and Verona residents; and May 15 at Norwin High School.
