Hampton Community Library programs
Hampton Community Library will continue its current children’s programming mask policy: Tuesdays, masks are required, and on Thursdays, masks are optional.
It’s a Wonderful World Drop-in Storytime is scheduled starting at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 19, featuring stories and songs, “investigate and create,” parachute play and time for free play.
Card Club meets from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through May 25, with card games decided by majority rules.
News & Views: The Post-Covid Edition is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 6. Journalist Gerry K. Smith talks about the pandemic’s impact on health, world turmoil, price of gas and more. All topic suggestions are welcome as are new members. Meet in Activity Room 1 in the Community Center.
The library will be closed May 14 for RecycleRama and May 28 for the Memorial Day weekend.
Monte Carlo Night at Richland VFD
Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its annual Monte Carlo Night from 7 to midnight April 30 at 5857 Meridian Road.
A $20 donation includes food and beverages, including fish sandwiches, kielbasa and hot dogs with sauerkraut. Those who attend must be 21 or older.
Lions Club schedules spaghetti dinner
The Elfinwild Lions Club is holding a freewill offering sit-down spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. May 7 at Elfinwild Presbyterian Church, 3200 Mt Royal Blvd.
The dinner includes salad, spaghetti (choice of sausage, beef or veggie sauce), breadstick, drinks and dessert.
Singer to perform at AARP meeting
AARP Chapter 595 welcome members and guests to its next meeting, scheduled for noon May 3 at Hampton Presbyterian Church, 2842 E. Hardies Road.
Singer Cathi Rhodes will present her Portrait of Patsy Tribute Show, featuring the songs made famous by country music legend Patsy Cline.
Meetings are the first Tuesday of the month. Annual membership is $7 a person.
Sealarks Women’s Group to meet May 11
Sealarks Women’s Group meets 1 p.m. on May 11 at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road, McCandless.
The group provides Christian fellowship and social activity for women who are widowed, divorced or never married. All women alone are welcome to attend and consider joining the group.
The program will be a discussion on therapy dogs, presented by Sandy Ritchey and her dog Wendell. For additional information, please call 412-487-7194.
Police, EMS schedule Bike Rodeo
Shaler, Etna and Millvale police departments, along with Shaler Hampton EMS, will hold a Bike Rodeo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 21 at Kiwanis Park.
Children will be fitted for and receive a free bike helmet, learn about safe riding, and can enter a free raffle to win a new bicycle. For more information or to register, visit shaler.org.
