Farmer’s market held Wednesday afternoons

The Township of Hampton Farmer’s Market is held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through mid-October in the lower parking lot of the Hampton Community Center, 3101 McCully Road.

Vendors for 2022 include Bates & Hayes Concessions, Carlos Aviles Farms, Cindy Munchies, Cunning House Supply Co., Gabriel’s Gardens, Halal Gyro Guys, Loafers Bread Co., Mazzotta Winery, Olive & Marlowe, Russelton Bee Works, Saylors Farm and Sweetwater Farms.

Greater Pittsburgh Civil War event scheduled

Michael Kraus will present “Civil War Treasures and Stories from the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall” during the Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Roundtable event scheduled for 7 p.m. June 20 at the Township Community Center, 1301 McCully Road.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Masks and social distancing are required.

St. Barnabas Charitable Golf Open set

Enjoy a fun, casual Friday of golf as St. Barnabas Charities hosts the 35th Annual Charitable Golf Open on June 10 at Conley Resort & Golf Club in Butler. Proceeds from this annual event support the St. Barnabas Free Care Fund.

The Charitable Golf Open offers morning and afternoon start options. The format of play is four-player, best of two balls. The lowest team score wins the tournament and the Bell Trophy. Plus, second and third place team awards. Golfers are eligible to win great raffle prizes, with winners drawn every half hour. Golfers and guests can also browse the silent auction, plus participate in the 50/50 raffle.

Northgate Church’s free Mega Sports Camp registration open

Back for its ninth year, Northgate Church Mega Sports Camp is a week of free fun for kids in first through sixth grades.

Camp dates are June 20-24, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the church, 238 West View Ave., Ross.

Youngsters can choose clinics in baseball, basketball, soccer, cheerleading, gymnastics, dodgeball or art.

Upbeat music, playing games, skits, singing and learning Bible stories also are among the activities designed to help children discover their character traits for success in life.

While the camp is free, registration is required. Space is limited, and so early registration is recommended either online at www.northgatechurch.com/mega or by calling the church office, 412-931-6016.

Great Gardens Tour on tap

Delight your senses and come tour five spectacular gardens with the 14th Annual Shaler Great Gardens Tour.

The tour takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 10. Sponsored by the Shaler Garden Club, the tour benefits the Shaler North Hills Library.

Your ticket includes visits to five beautiful gardens with unique features such as raised bed flower gardens, wooded gardens and handsome hardscapes, as well as a chance to win a gift basket. The event is held rain or shine.

Tickets can be purchased at the library for $15 in advance and $18 the day of the tour. Tickets are also available online at shalerlibrary.org.
