A Homestead man wanted charged in connection with a shooting at a Greenfield bar in April turned himself in to police Tuesday, authorities said.
Jeremy Banks, 40, faces 21 charges, including 12 counts of aggravated assault in the April 30 shooting at Zeno’s on Acorn Street.
Police allege Banks shot up the bar after he was thrown out for being unruly. Three people were injured, authorities said, and three others were in the direct line of fire.
A witness told detectives they knew the man who opened fire as “Perm” and gave a phone number for him, according to the complaint. Detectives linked that number back to Banks.
One person who had been shot in the arm said they saw another victim struggling to remove Banks from the bar, according to the complaint. They said Banks eventually left but continued to be a nuisance in the parking lot.
Witnesses told investigators they saw Banks get into a black sedan and start shooting toward the bar from the driver’s seat, according to the complaint. Someone at the bar fired back.
Two victims picked Banks out of a photo array, investigators said. They noted that surveillance footage from outside the bar backed up what the victims and witness described.
A preliminary hearing date had not been set as of Tuesday afternoon.
