A female ambulance driver was taken to the hospital with hand and pelvic injuries after a crash Monday afternoon flipped the ambulance she was driving onto its side in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood, according to police.

Pittsburgh police, ambulance and fire units were called to the intersection of Oakwood and Bennett streets just before 2 p.m. for a report of a crash.

When they arrived, the ambulance was flipped onto its side. The driver was freed and transported in stable condition, police said. Two other emergency services workers in the ambulance were able to get out on their own, and were taken to the hospital for evaluation.

A passenger in the other vehicle involved in the crash was transported to the hospital in stable condition; the driver was not injured, police said.
