A Squirrel Hill man arrested last month for planting a hidden camera in a restroom at The Frick museum now faces a slew of additional charges for hiding the device and spying on restroom-users elsewhere.
Todd Bueschen, 35, was charged Tuesday with eight counts of sexual abuse of children by possessing child pornography and 228 counts of invasion of privacy for recording residents using a non-gender-specific bathroom at Frick Environmental Center and at other unknown locations.
Bueschen previously faced 90 child pornography and invasion of privacy charges for hiding a camera and recording residents in a restroom at The Frick in Point Breeze.
Police said about 3,000 images were stored on Bueschen’s device, a HOWKOW spy camera, from as many as seven locations. The images were captured where the camera appears to have been placed underneath bathroom sinks, a criminal complaint said.

The restrooms at Frick Environmental Center, which sits about one mile from Bueschen’s home, “appeared to be frequent locations, used in numerous recordings from July 18, 2021, to July 1, 2022, based on the dates listed on video images,” according to a criminal complaint.
The video images show about 220 adult male and female victims, including numerous senior citizens, and eight small children who appeared to be between the ages of 3 and 8, the complaint said.
Bueschen’s attorney, David Shrager, said he expected additional charges to be filed.
“It is our intention to continue our investigation, study the new allegations and make the appropriate response in court,” Shrager said.
Bueschen is awaiting a preliminary hearing on the new charges.
