Museum hosts Beggars Day
The Depreciation Lands Museum, 4743 South Pioneer Road, Hampton, will host Beggars Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 29.
Children are invited to participate in the custom of “begging,” the door-to-door tradition that predates trick-or-treating. Youngsters can dress in their favorite costumes from the past, present or future, and will be treated to Halloween lore from the past and special activities around the village.
Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children under 12, and free for costumed children and Depreciation Land Museum Association members.
Beggars Day marks the final museum event of the season. Opening day for 2024 is in May.
Hampton ALICE training
Hampton Township School District and the municipal police department are providing a free ALICE training for interested residents and businesspeople.
The training is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Hampton Community Center.
ALICE trainings provide preparation and a plan for individuals and organizations on how to more proactively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or an active shooter event.

Trick-or-treat times
Hampton trick-or-treat is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.
Residents who plan to hand out candy are asked to turn on their porch lights.
Night at the Races
The Hampton ice hockey has teamed up with Hampton golf to sponsor a fun evening of food, raffles and racing.
A Night at the Races is scheduled for Nov. 11 at the North Hampton Volunteer Fire Hall, 5149 N. Pioneer Road, Hampton. The cost is $35 per person, which includes buffet dinner, water, soft drinks and beer.
The event is for guests 21 and older only. BYOB.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. The deadline is Nov. 3.

Sealarks group meets
Sealarks Women’s Group will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road, McCandless.
The program is “Pittsburgh Makes Merry: Guilded Age Holiday Traditions,” by Sue Morris.
The group provides Christian fellowship and social activity for women alone. All women alone are welcome to attend and consider joining the group. Meetings are free for members and $2 for guests. Call Edie at 412-487-7194 for more information.
EduNations concert scheduled
EduNations is hosting its 10th annual benefit concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 7, featuring artist Phillips, Craig & Dean.
The concert will be held at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road, McCandless. Tickets are on sale at $10 for an individual or $25 for a family with two or more children living in the same household.
