Civil War Roundtable

The Greater Pittsburgh Civil War Roundtable will hold a lecture at 7 p.m. June 19 at the Hampton Township Community Center, 1301 McCully Road. James Gindlesperger will present “Bullets and Bandages.”

The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information, call Rick Fellers at 412-760-9476.

Community Day celebration

Hampton Community Day is scheduled for July 3, starting at 1 p.m. and concluding after a fireworks display.

Inflatable attractions and food vendors will be featured on the Hampton Community Park soccer fields, and three bands will perform: Pine Creek Community Band, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.; No Bad JuJu, 3:30 to 5:30; and Brass Metropolis, 7:30 to 9:30.

Hidden Gems of North Park

Pine Creek Land Conservation Trust, North Area Environmental Council and Friends of North Park are hosting an event at 7:30 p.m. June 27 at the Rose Barn in North Park.

Park Ranger Samuel Shephard will present information and photos on the Hidden Gems of North Park. The event is free and open to the public.

Wine & Spirits Festival at Hartwood

Tickets are on sale for the Allegheny County Wine & Spirits Festival, scheduled for July 22 at Hartwood Acres.

The event features food trucks and live music. Two sessions available, 2-5 p.m. or 5:30-8:30 p.m. The festival will take place on the lawn of Hartwood’s 1920s Tudor mansion.

Distilleries, cideries and wineries confirmed as attending include Bella Terra Vineyards, Black Dog Wine Company, KingView Mead, Wine, Hard Cider, Mazzotta Winery, Pittsburgh Winery, Refucilo Winery, Wine O’Clock Somewhere Winery, Boyd & Blair, Maggie’s Farm, Lucky Sign Spirits and Quantum Spirits.

Live entertainment will be provided by Samantha Sears.

Presale tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.alleghenycounty.us/special-events/wine—-spirits-festival.aspx. Prices will rise to $30 at midnight June 20.

Designated drivers and people under 21 are admitted free. Valid proof of age must be provided at the event to sample.

Memorial duck race scheduled

Elfinwild Lions Club is sponsoring the Tom Rogers Memorial Duck Race at 11 a.m. June 24 at Fawcett Fields, McElheny Road, Shaler.

Ducks can be purchased for $5 at the North Hills Shaler Library or by calling 412-487-1888. Refreshments will be available at the event.
