Club hosts Master Gardener

Greybrooke Garden Club holds regular meetings the second Wednesday of the month at Parkwood United Presbyterian, 4289 Mt. Royal Blvd., Hampton. Guests always are welcome.

On May 8, the club welcomes Claudia Bernardo, a Penn State Master Gardener who received her landscape and garden design certification from Phipps Conservatory. She will present a program on the concepts of landscape design at 11 a.m.

A business meeting begins at 9:30. Refreshments and a brief time for fellowship follow, preceding the program.

Allison Park AARP meeting

Allison Park AARP 3736 will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. May 9 in the St. Ursula Social Hall, 3945 Kirk Avenue, Hampton.

The program will feature the Senior Olympics. For more information, call 412-486-7465.

Recycle Rama set for May 11

Hampton’s Recycle Rama event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon May 11 in parking lot of the community center and community park.

The community center will open at noon. Some areas of the park will be blocked off for Recycle Rama use, such as the Alcoa Pavilion, access to the upper orchard and the pool parking lots. No township field use will be permitted until the event concludes.

Vendors include JVS Electronics, Construction Junction and Thrivent Bicycles. Paper shredding is sponsored by state Rep. Robert Mercuri, R-Pine.

‘Songs Through the Decades’

The North Hills Chorale’s Spring Concert “Songs Through the Decades” is a walk through the last 100 years of popular American songs, including such titles as “It Had to Be You,” “That’s Amore,” “Yesterday” and “I Just Called to Say I Love You.”

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. April 26 and 3 p.m. April 28 at St. Vincent Hall, 8150 McKnight Road, McCandless.

Seasonal events scheduled

Pints in the Park events are scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. May 17, June 28, July 26, Aug. 23 and Sept. 27 in the parking lot of the Hampton Community Center, 3101 McCully Road. The events feature food trucks, entertainment and beverages for over- and under-21 guests.

The Hampton Farmers Market starts June 5 and runs from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 9, also in the community center parking lot.

Various food trucks will visit the market throughout the season. The tentative lineup, subject to change, includes Benvenuti’s Pizza Factory and the BoonSeek (Korean food), June 5; Cool Beans Taco Truck, June 12; Benvenuti’s, June 19; and Cousins Maine Lobster, June 26.
