Clearview Road Bridge closure

Hampton is replacing the Clearview Road Bridge, which crosses Gourdhead Run and connects to Route 8.

The project involves the replacing of the existing span and relocation of electrical, water, sewer and gas lines in the vicinity of the bridge. As a result, there will be a substantial impact to commuters who use the bridge.

The shutdown of the bridge is scheduled to begin June 10, and it is anticipated that the bridge will remain closed through September. The recommended detour is Route 8 to Harts Run Road to Clearview Road.

All work on this project is weather-dependent.

Mount Royal Blvd. closure

PennDOT is making slide repair work on Mount Royal Boulevard in Hampton, beginning June 10, weather permitting.

The work requires the closure of a portion of the street between Toner and Duncan avenues. To allow the work to occur, an around-the-clock closure of Mount Royal will occur through late August.

Traffic will be detoured, as posted:

• North of the closure — from Mount Royal Boulevard, turn right onto Route 8. Turn right onto Duncan Avenue, Follow Duncan Avenue back to Mount Royal Boulevard.

• South of the closure — same detour in the opposite direction.

Crews from A. Liberoni Inc. will conduct the work. Please use caution when traveling through the corridor.

Route 910 closure

PennDOT is conducting replacement work on the Route 910 bridge over Deer Creek in West Deer.

Route 910 will be closed in this area through Aug. 21. All traffic will be detoured, posted as follows:

• East of the closure — from Route 910, turn onto Cedar Ridge Road. Turn right onto Middle Road. Follow Middle Road back to Route 910.

• West of the closure — same detour in the opposite direction.

The work is anticipate to generate more traffic along Middle Road, particularly at the busy intersections at Cedar Ridge and East Hardies roads in Hampton. The township’s Police Department will be monitoring the intersections at the beginning of the detour and working with PennDOT to determine if additional traffic control is needed.

Pints in the Park

The next Pints in the Park event is scheduled for 5 to 9 p.m. June 28 in Hampton Community Park.

Strange Roots Experimental Ales and food trucks Pittsburgh Smoke House, Pita My Shawarma, Kona Ice and PGH Crepes are scheduled to be present. The Felt Like will provide music, and kids’ activities include face painting and entertainment by stilt walker O’Ryan the Omazing.

Tennis court resurfacing

The resurfacing of the Hampton Community Park tennis courts is anticipated to continue through mid-August. Township officials ask that everyone refrains from using the courts during that time.
