Shred It event
Guardian Storage of Bethel Park is having a Shred It Day on May 1 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Up to five file boxes can have free shredding. A monetary donation or free school supplies would be appreciated in exchange for shredding.

Candidates forum
The Bethel Park Chamber is hosting a Candidates Forum for school board and council candidates for the spring primary.
The Candidates Forum will be televised on BPTV and questions will be taken from the audience on Facebook Live. If anyone wants to submit a question for council or school board candidates, they can submit them now to admin@bpchamber.org.
Due to the number of candidates running, the seating capacity must adhere to 25 including candidates and staff, and leaves little in-person seating available. The forum will be televised and later posted on the bpchamber.org website on YouTube for further viewing.
The Forum will be held in the Bethel Park Municipal Council Chambers 6-9:30 p.m. May 4. For more information, call 412-595-8361.
Bethel Park community blood drive
The Municipality of Bethel Park will be holding a community blood drive May 4 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Schoolhouse Arts & History Center, 2600 South Park Road.

Banner Community
The Municipality of Bethel Park has recently been named a 2021 Banner Community by the Allegheny League of Municipalities.
Recognition will be held at the upcoming ALOM Educational Conference scheduled for June 17-20.
The Banner Community Program recognizes communities that show a commitment to professional development, prudent fiscal management, transparency, accountability and proactive communications to engage community stakeholders.
“This is a validation of all the hard work Bethel Park municipal employees, municipal council and the mayor put in every day for our community,” said Bethel Park municipal manager Laurence Christian. “To be one of the communities recognized in this program is a great distinction!”
Bethel Park is one of 54 municipalities that received the Banner Designation for multiple years, and one of the 71 municipalities and five municipal authorities recognized this year.
