State elected leaders presented citations during the Oct. 25 school board meeting that celebrate the 75th anniversary of the North Allegheny School District.

State Rep. Dr. Arvind Venkat, D-McCandless; Rep. Rob Mercuri, R-Pine and Sen. Devlin Robinson, R-Bridgeville, presented the citations. Grace Muller, a representative of State Sen. Lindsey Williams, D-West View, who represents Pennsylvania’s 38th Senate District, also attended.

The school district was established in 1948, and it is celebrating the milestone throughout the year.

“It’s been a journey of excellence and opportunity ever since for so many thousands of students in our area,” said Mercuri, who represents the state’s 28th Legislative District

Venkat, of the 30th Legislative District, who has two students in the school district, said, “Your tradition of excellence is truly something to behold.”

Venkat also provided citations from both Gov. Josh Shapiro and U.S. Rep. Chris DeLuzio, D-Aspinwall, of the 17th district, and represents the North Allegheny area.

“Think about all of the students and the souls that came through the school district and have carried on the traditions that they have learned at the school district and have taken through the world. Let’s make sure we have another productive 75 years ahead of us,” Robinson said.
