A man was shot in Pittsburgh’s South Side early Sunday morning just minutes after police began clearing several blocks of St. Patrick’s Day revelers.

Video footage captured around 2:40 a.m. and obtained by TribLive shows a police line advancing along East Carson Street from 17th Street toward throngs of partygoers near 18th Street.

According to police, shots rang out about five minutes later near the intersection of East Carson and 18th streets.

Police said a man was driving a vehicle in the area when he was struck by a shooter on the street. The victim was hit once in buttocks and transported to a hospital in stable condition.

A suspect tried to flee from the scene, but was detained by police and taken in for questioning. He was identified as Joseph Vance Brown.
