A man was hospitalized after a North Side shooting Tuesday morning.

Pittsburgh police responded to the intersection of Geyer and Shadeland avenues for ShotSpotter alerts of eight rounds of gunfire at about 10 a.m., police spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.

First responders found the man, who was not identified, “in the area of Schimmer Street and Staho Way,” suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Medics took him to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Two guns were found on the scene, Cruz said. A house in the 3100 block of Shadeland Avenue also was damaged by gunfire.

The police bureau’s violent crime unit is investigating.
