A 26-year-old McKees Rocks man was arrested Friday by Allegheny County Sheriff’s deputies for possession of 20 “bricks” of heroin after a traffic stop in the West End.

The sheriff’s department said Jaron Allen was stopped about 8:30 p.m. for driving erratically including crossing over the double-yellow line on multiple occasions as he neared the Route 51 exit ramp on West Carson Street.

Deputies said Allen began acting nervously while being questioned and said he did not have a driver’s license. The sheriff’s department said Allen consented to a search of the vehicle.

Officers reported that during the search they retrieved a blue shopping bag beneath the driver’s seat with multiple stamp bags of suspected heroin visible. Deputies said the heroin bags were marked “SHOW TIME.”

According to online dockets, Allen was being released from the county jail Saturday on recognizance bond after his arraignment on charges of possession of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin, driving on a suspended license and multiple traffic violations.

A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled Dec. 28.
