Coronavirus numbers show Monroeville still among highest case rates in eastern suburbs

As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, the Monroeville area’s numbers continue to remain among the highest in the eastern suburbs.

As of Jan. 13, there have been 1,826 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Monroeville since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. A total of 57 deaths have been reported, and 8,610 tests have been administered to Monroeville residents.

Monroeville’s case rate is 643 per 10,000 residents, or 6.4%

Since the pandemic began, Pitcairn has had 108 cases. Four deaths have been reported, and 643 tests have been administered to Pitcairn residents. The case rate in Pitcairn is 328 per 10,000 residents, or 3.3%.
