Monroeville Arts concerts scheduled
The Monroeville Arts Council Concert Series continues with a performance by the Pittsburgh Belairs on Oct. 22.
Larry Cervi’s East End Kids will perform Dec. 3.
Concerts are from 4 to 6 p.m. in the CCAC Boyce Campus auditorium, 595 Beatty Road, and are presented by the arts council and UPMC East.
Church hosting Pumpkin Patch
The youth of Monroeville United Methodist Church is hosting a Pumpkin Patch, open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day from Oct. 16 through Oct. 31
There will be hundreds of pumpkins in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors to choose from and purchase. Photo opportunities are available. Everyone is invited to pick a favorite pumpkin or two and help support MUM youths’ winter retreat.

Fall fest features trunk-or-treat
A fall festival is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at CCAC Boyce Campus, 595 Beatty Road. The event features a trunk-or-treat, food trucks, face painting, kids’ activities, a bounce house and more.

International Women to meet Nov. 3
International Women will meet at 9.30 a.m. Nov. 3 at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 2310 Haymaker Road, Monroeville.
The meeting will start with the program “How Could This Happen? My Family from the Monarchy to Today” by poet and author Helga M. Mears, born in Germany during World War II, who fled from the Russians to West Germany with her parents and older sister. In 1970, she moved to the United States, where she became a high school teacher and an adjunct at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
A welcome is extended to all women in the community, whether foreign- or American-born, who are interested in spending a morning over coffee and the program of the month.
Pancake breakfast, bake sale
Garden City United Methodist Church will host a pancake breakfast and bake sale from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 28 at Laurel Drive in Monroeville.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $9 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-12. Children 3 and younger eat for free.

Artist’s work displayed at library
The works Charita Schultz will be on display in the Monroeville Public Library’s Elaine Biondi Gallery Space through Oct. 26.
Schultz is a self-taught artist from Pittsburgh. She has been working primarily in the medium of collage for over 20 years.
This is the first time showing her works publicly, and she hopes to invoke intrigue, wonder, and challenge viewers’ perceptions. Patrons can expect to see collages on canvas, smaller-format works and prints. Artist inquiries can be sent to CharitaSchultz.art@gmail.com.
Friends of Monroeville Public Library is hosting an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 4 for that month’s exhibitor, the Calligraphy Guild Pittsburgh
On Dec. 2 will be the opening reception for Blanket the Library Plus, complemented by a winter shopping market featuring local businesses and a public celebration of the completion of the Light Up the Library campaign, which provides more efficient lighting for the building at 4000 Gateway Campus Blvd.
Food pantry distributions
The Garden City Food Pantry distributes food on the second Thursday of each month, with morning distribution from 9 to 11 and evening distribution from 6 to 7.
Upcoming distributions are Nov. 9 and Dec. 14 at 500 Laurel Drive, Monroeville.
