Music and dance

St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church, 2110 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, will hold a DooWop Music and Dance event on Sept. 30. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Featured acts are Bob Morelli as Dean Martin and the Pittsburgh BelAires. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Food and drink are a la carte. Please, no outside food or drinks.

Free cancer screening

Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute will host a free cancer screening event Sept. 30 at Premier Medical Associates, 3824 Northern Pike, Suite 200, Monroeville.

The screening is open to the public, and health insurance is not required.

Registration closes Sept. 20, or until all appointments have been filled. Reservations must be made by calling 412-359-6665.

Spectro Dolce grand reopening

Spectro Dolce Confectionery at Monroeville Mall is hosting “grand reopening celebration Saturdays.”

From noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 16, guests are invited to create their own chocolate-dipped treats. Balloon Artistry by Sean will be featured from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 23.

The confectionery, operated by the Autism Employment Network, is in the former Key Bank space at the mall.

International Day of Peace

The Rotary Club of Monroe­ville is coordinating an International Day of Peace event from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at Monroeville Park West, 2399 Tilbrook Road.

Featured will be ethnic food trucks, cultural music, free Kona Ice and family activities. Feel free to wear your ethnic attire and bring your family and friends as the community comes together to create a brighter future for all.

Library to host trivia night

Monroeville Public Library will host a trivia night on Sept. 23, with doors opening at 6 o’clock and the game starting at 7, for participants ages 21 and older.

There will be a cash prize of $100 for the first-place team and $50 for second. Light snacks and drinks are included in the ticket price. There will also be food available for purchase, including a nacho bar and bake sale table. Tickets for a variety of raffle baskets and for a 50-50 drawing will be for sale.

At intermission will be a separate bonus trivia game with a prize for the winning table.

Divine Mercy craft show

A fall craft and vendor show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 7 at Divine Mercy Academy, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville.

More than 100 vendors on two floors will be featured, along with delicious homemade food and more.
