Musical comedy performance

Alabaster Performing Arts will perform “Family Reunion,” a musical comedy, at 7 p.m. July 26 at New Covenant Church, 2225 Grandview Ave., Monroe­ville.

The show tells the tale of love, laughter and coming home for a colorful family of feuding cousins, picnic baskets, relay races and returning prodigals. In the youth cast are Monroeville performers Tabitha Klimko, Ella Rembert, Helena Pullie-Jones and Lizelle Torres.

Flea market, food sale

Christ the Divine Shepherd’s flea market and food sale is scheduled for July 28-30.

Donations to the sale can be made at the parish’s Lourdes Center, 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 22 and 23. Accepted are most clean, unbroken items, including furniture, housewares, books, toys, jewelry and fashion accessories, and seasonal decor. Not accepted are clothes, televisions, computers and electronics, VHS or cassette tapes, encyclopedias, bowling balls, stuffed animals, out-of-date car seats and stained or damaged items.

The flea market preview is from 6 to 8 p.m. July 28, with $5 admission. The regular market is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. (half-price sale) July 29, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 30 for a “name your price” sale.”

MAC concert series to wrap up at CCAC

The Monroeville Arts Council’s Summer Concert Series wraps up in the Community College of Allegheny County Boyce Campus auditorium with Judi Figel and accompaniment from 4 to 6 p.m. July 23.

Concerts continue in the fall with the Pittsburgh Belairs, Oct. 22, and Larry Cervi’s East End Kids

Car cruise scheduled

American Legion Post 820 in Monroeville is organizing a car cruise to support homeless veterans. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 20 at the post home, 4339 Old William Penn Highway.

Guests are asked to park at Party Savvy and the dentist’s office across the street. Event staff will guide traffic.

The event will feature food from local businesses, classic music and a silent auction, with proceeds dedicated to assisting homeless veterans. Individuals interested in entering a vehicle in the cruise can contact Sue at 412-372-9713 between noon and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday before Aug. 7.
