Classic Car Cruise
Papa Rocks Pizza will host a Classic Car Cruise in Haymaker Village Shopping Center’s parking lot in Monroeville.
The event is scheduled to begin at noon and will include food and music. The event is free and open to everyone.
All classic cars and vehicles are encouraged to participate. There is no fee for entry.
Bob Guilani, owner of Papa Rocks has been hosting the Summer Classic Car cruises for several years as a way to connect and give back to the community. Proceeds from the 50/50 Raffle will be shared with the Autism Employment Network, a nonprofit that works with young adults with neurodiversity and autism spectrum disorders to help provide employment coaching and job training.
‘Going in Circles’ quilt show
The Quilt Company East Quilt Guild’s show, titled “Going in Circles,” is scheduled from July 13-15 at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish (formerly St. Bernadette), 245 Azalea Drive, Monroeville.
The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $10. For more information, visit quiltcoeast.org.
MAC concert series at CCAC
The Monroeville Arts Council’s Summer Concert Series continues in the Community College of Allegheny County Boyce Campus auditorium from 4 to 6 p.m.
On the schedule are the East Winds Symphonic Band, July 16 and Judi Figel and accompaniment, July 23.
Church hosts summer fun day
Monroeville United Methodist Church, 219 Center Road, will host a craft show and fun day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 15.
The event will feature 35 crafters and vendors, indoors and outdoors. Attractions include Cotton Candy Creations, a bounce house provided by Jumping Jumperoo, Kona Ice, Pittsburgh Smokehouse food truck, Jewelle the Clown and continuous entertainment.
Yard sale at Church of Brethren
Monroeville Church of the Brethren, 481 Center Road, will host a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 15, with a rain date of July 22. Home-baked goods and beverages will be for sale.
The church requests a donation from people who bring their own tables. A limited number of tables are available for $5 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Food pantry distributions
The Garden City Food Pantry distributes food on the second Thursday of each month, with morning distribution from 9 to 11 and evening distribution from 6 to 7. Upcoming distribution dates are July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14 at 500 Laurel Drive, Monroeville.
Pittsburgh Foundation Day of Giving is Aug. 1. From 8 a.m. to midnight, online donations for the Garden City Food Pantry of $25 or more will be eligible for additional incentive funds from the foundation. Visit www.pittsburghgives.org and search Garden City Food Pantry or 15146.
Memorial golf outing
The inaugural Peter Flaherty IV Memorial Golf Outing is scheduled for July 30 at Grand View Golf Course, 1000 Clubhouse Drive, North Braddock.
The event honors a 2018 Gateway High School graduate whose passing occurred in 2021. The outing aims to raise funds for the Peter Flaherty IV Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will provide financial support to one or more graduating seniors from Gateway in 2024.
The outing’s shotgun start is at 8 a.m., following registration that begins at 7. Golfers are asked to contribute $100 per player, and hole sponsorships are offered to interested parties.
