• Macy Perry of Monroeville was named to the dean’s list at Wilkes University for the fall semester 2020. To be named to the dean’s list, students must obtain a minimum 3.5 GPA and carry at least 12 credits.
• Ryan Mahokey of Monroeville has been placed on the dean’s commendation list at Gettysburg College for outstanding academic achievement in the Fall 2020 semester. Students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester’s work are placed on the list.
• Alice Haines of Monroeville was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Haines was initiated at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Haines is among approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year.
Baseball tryouts
The Monroeville Baseball Association will hold tryouts for its Youth Legion team for any Monroeville or Pitcairn resident born between 2005 and 2008 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on March 13 at the Gateway High School gymnasium, 3000 Gateway Campus Blvd.

Monroeville Chapter of the Women’s Business Network

An “All Virtual Chapter” meets via Zoom on the first and third Wednesday of every month from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. In March, the meetings will be held March 13 and 24.
