Monroeville area coronavirus numbers among highest in eastern suburbs

As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, the Monroeville area’s numbers remain among the highest in the eastern suburbs.

As of Dec. 8, there have been 926 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Monroeville since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. Twenty-four deaths have been reported, and 6,972 tests have been administered to Monroeville residents.

Monroeville’s case rate is 326 per 10,000 residents.

Since the pandemic began, Pitcairn has had 56 cases. Two deaths have been reported, and 504 Pitcairn residents have had tests administered.
