Monroeville area: Watershed session, upcoming public meetings

Here are news briefs from the Monroeville and Pitcairn area:

Watershed meeting

The community is invited to the first “visioning” session for the Turtle Creek Watershed and Airshed Communities, set for 6-8 p.m. Jan. 25 in Monroeville.

The meeting will feature a presentation by May Torpey, sustainability coordinator for citizen group Protect PT. She will discuss topics including native urban gardens, sustainable infrastructure, health and wellness, single-use plastics and more.

There is no cost to attend. Refreshments will be provided. Register at ProtectPT.org/events.

• Monroeville Citizen Night and council work session, 7 p.m. Feb. 6 at the council chambers, 2700 Monroeville Boulevard.

• Monroeville Zoning Hearing Board work session/meeting, 7/7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 at the council chambers.

Mini golf at the library

The Monroeville Public Library will be transformed into an 18-hole miniature golf course on Feb. 24

The first is an all-ages event, and begins at 10 a.m., with the last tee off at 3:45 p.m. Entry is $5 per person, and children age 3 and younger are free. Tickets include one round of mini golf. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

The second time slot begins at 5:30 p.m., with 9:45 p.m. being the last tee off. This is an age 21 and older event. Tickets are $35 and include unlimited mini golf, food and drinks. Options include both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

Proceeds will benefit library programs. The library is at 4000 Gateway Campus Boulevard in Monroeville.
