Monroeville Public Library will host a Grinch-themed party on Dec. 7.

The “Grinchmas” party at the library will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The event, in its second year, will feature Grinch-themed games and food.

Hope Benson, head of the children’s library, said they will read the original “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” story and view the original TV special.

“There are lots of breakfast with Santa events,” Benson said. “But the Grinch is another favorite. And it’s not a character you get to see often and celebrate over Christmastime.”

She said last year’s event drew around 130 people so they figured there was enough interest to host it again.

“It’s just good, family fun,” she said. “But there’s something for everyone so if grandma and grandpa want to come out, I’m sure we can find something to make everyone smile.”
