The Monroeville Mall has been around for 50 years.

To celebrate, the mall will create a mural filled with submitted historical photos, newspaper clippings and other Monroeville-related mementos, said CBL, the mall’s owner, in a news release.

The mural will be unveiled at an event May 13 and be on display during the mall’s free 50-year anniversary event May 18-19.

The mural, which will be printed onto a poster, will be located at the upper level entrance next to Party City and JCPenney, said Kristina Circelli, CBL’s marketing director.

“We have a fun design that will utilize part of that wall to incorporate a mixture of photo sizes and layouts that show Monroeville throughout the years,” Circelli said in an email.

Those interested in submitting photos that could be chosen to be incorporated in the mural should send them to the Monroeville Management Office at 200 Mall Circle Drive. Submissions can also be emailed to Susan Hoff at Susan.Hoff@CBLProperties.com or posted to the mall’s Facebook page.

Submissions and entry forms must be received by 4 p.m. April 26. More information is available online at bit.ly/2UVirHe.

By submitting photos, three participants will be selected randomly to win a $100 gift card. One person will win two VIP Access Passes to the 2019 Living Dead Weekend, which will be held at the mall June 14-16.
