There were lots of laughs and giggles Nov. 15 when more than a dozen children got together for the Monroeville Recreation Department’s “Gobbles and Giggles” event. Class instructors Ashley Smith and Courtney Smith read Thanksgiving-themed stories, “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey” and “Thanks for Thanksgiving.” Making edible crafts was next on the agenda, including a chocolate acorn cookie and a turkey made from apples and marshmallows. Paige Berrenger, 4, gets a little help from mom, Amanda, making her turkey.
